The flyer for the 11% sale always says one week. Most of the time the next week there is a new flyer stating the 11% has been extended for another week. They usually use the same rebate form for both weeks so the rebate form will tell you if they are going to extend the 11% tomorrow.

Next week will be the extended 11% but I bet next Saturday the new add comes out with the sale items effective that day, so if your really looking for some bargains you might find something on sale on Saturday plus get the rebate.

I'm really shocked they didn't use the same rebate form for both weeks like they usually have in the past. Maybe someone got smart and realized that customers knew the 11% would be for two weeks by reading the rebate form.

That's an awesome deal. Especially considering lifetime warranty. I own some performax wrenches and sockets and have no complaints from them. I use there 1/2" drive breaker bar all the time and it hasn't let me down yet. And its only 6 bucks every day price

Looks like Menards is getting rid of the Dasco punches and chisels and replacing them with Wilde. Great move in my opinion. Got a 5 piece Wilde pin punch set for about $13

Dasco punches are great. I know they moved off shore a few years ago, but at least it wasn't to an Asian country

(Did a quick search and didn't see this posted so if it has been sorry for the repost.)

I saw the cheap 32pc Performax wrench set is in clearance section for $9.99. I'm pretty sure it's the same as the Harbor Freight one. Anyway if you are there it might be a worthy pickup if you need some spares to abuse.

Yea....Plus 11% off great set for the price...:rocker:

Huh? All the Dasco punches at Menards are Made in USA, aren't they? I picked up a bunch on clearance, I assumed they were replacing them with some crappy China stuff.

Yeah they are still made in USA. I'm just glad to see Wilde getting into a large scale home improvement store. I can still get Dasco at Home Depot if I want

Got 12 inch long, 1 and 3/4 inch Dasco Chisels for a couple bucks each. USA made, no idea what I'll use them for but for a couple bucks I had to get them.

Just killing time I noticed some weird pricing on some drill bits. They a mix of tool shop and century drill bits on the rack but you could get the decent quality Century drill bits for the tool shop price. My guess is they are changing to Tool Shop. I picked up a 5 1/2 Century HSS Bright drill bits for $3 each.

They also had Tru Cut Silver and Demming bits for over half off. 3/4 bit was only like $13.

I took a look at those Performax wrenches on clearance. Coo is India, not even China! Anyone know who makes those in India? I noticed the Harbor Freight deep offset box end wrenches are also India Coo. Those are actually quite good wrenches (I have a set in SAE and Metric). Curious who these up and coming Indian companies are. - Paul

Not sure they're up-and-coming, HF has had India wrenches for a long time. I have a set from 4-5 years ago and they look decent but they're fairly crappy.

The China Apex is pretty good.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before (and may be YMMV), but I was at a local Menards yesterday and it appears they are clearancing out all of their Irwin clamps. These include their medium duty and XP heavy duty bar clamps, as well as the little hand clamps that are near the C-clamps. I didn't get a pic of the small hand clamps, just the bar clamps.

That's what I meant Ishi by up and coming! If they are crappy, they aren't quite where they need to be yet! I do like the HF deep offset ones though. - Paul

I never thought Menard's sold automotive lifts. They are advertising a sale on Dannmar automotive lifts. I checked out a couple of the items and they have a $30 - $300 off list price. How this compares to previous deals here is uncertain as I am not in the market for one.

If you are interested in a MaxJax, scissor or 2 or 4 post lift see the sale add here:

That's cool that Menards sells lifts. I didn't know that either. Lots of interesting things in the big ad this week. Free Menards coffee mugs and also free plastic clamp things on the first page, after rebate. I have my eye on some lumber storage racks they have for a project - need to use my garage space up high better for storage. - Paul

Probably Akar. I mentioned last year that I happy with how thin they are and I don't have to grind good wrenches anymore.

Thanks! I did pick up a set myself for a spare. For 33 pieces for $9.99 on clearance, They could be made in Ucantsayitistan and I'd probably give them a try! :)

I'll look up Akar for further evaluation purposes. Now who makes the HF deep offset box sets? Those are really good for the money to me! Meaning as good as deep offset DBEs up to 3-4x the price elsewhere easily! - Paul

Hey guys, they have some fairly decent deals on LED light bulbs this week. You can get a two pack of 60 watt equivalent LED for like $10. It is in the ad. Also, on clearance, some stores have a Feit 75 watt equivalent LED with nice brightness lumens for $10, down from original $25 or so. I got one of those and plugged it in last night. Really nice light. This was my first home LED bulb ever, so I wanted to try one out. Prices are still pretty high on these, but they are starting to come down.

What I'd like to do is upgrade the light level as I get some LED bulbs, meaning replace a 60 watt with a 100 watt equivalent or more, as the true wattage used is like 19 or 23 or something, much less than the 60 the fixtures have as a limit. It's a great way to get more light out of existing fixtures, but the higher lumen LEDS are still pretty pricey. Nice bulb though. It will pay for itself in only like 12 years payback! - Paul

On the end of an aisle near where the christmas and lawn supplies typically are (likely varies by store), my store had some generic LED bulbs for $4 each and were 60w. It may be a case of YMMV, but FYI. I assume the Feit are better bulbs.

Coast HP14, I bought one like 2 weeks ago and really like it. Clearance price $25, $48+ everywhere else.

http://www.menards.com/main/p-2439047.htm

Do not search Menards site for HP14. There are actually two HP14's listed, this one clearly shows HP14 in the picture (and what you get) but the one with HP14 actually in the title is not on clearance. Not sure what's up there.

IMO, I have a ton of Maglites and I am done with them. These are a perfect replacement for the full-size Maglites and a lot nicer.

I was looking last night to check out some flap discs for the 4.5" grinder and found this on clearance. When I picked them up today, I bought the rest of the flap discs at my local store, Mansfield, Ohio

PORTER-CABLE® 4-1/2" Z60 T29 Flap Disc
Model Number: PCA8207 | Menards® SKU: 2527536 was $6.98 sale $2.98

PORTER-CABLE® 5" H & L 120 Grit Sandpaper
Model Number: 735801205 | Menards® SKU: 2527541 was $5.97 sale $1.99

PORTER-CABLE® 4-1/2" Grinding Wheel
Model Number: PCA4541 | Menards® SKU: 2527512 was $2.89 sale $1.29

These are more Porter-Cable items getting clearanced.

http://www.menards.com/main/search.html?search=porter+cable&queryType=clearanceItems&page=1

I also was going to pick this Tool Shoe set up since it was being clearanced but apparently, the local inventory was wrong.

Has anybody bought the Masterforce folding steel sawhorses? These are on sale after rebate this week at $14.99 each. Look pretty robust. Would like a review. I'm sure made in China coo. I have liked most of the MasterForce designs on tools, mostly well thought out designs. - Paul

Those are the Alligator type. I like Knipex after trying them, but they are just terribly expensive to start with. I like them 50% off or more, not 10%. :willy_nil

What I think are the best things in Knipex are the Cobra pliers and the Pliers Wrenches. Other stuff is fine in other brands much less, like Channellock or Klein on sale. For that matter, I like the cheap Irwin or Masterforce knockoffs of the Cobras, but for professional use, the Cobra heat treatment is much better than the knockoffs. The Pliers wrenches are unique and neat tools, just terribly expensive. I got a 10" pliers wrench last fall when Sears had some great points deals for about all of $20. It is worth that easily! My "Cobras" are the Sears Craftsman rebrands of the real Knipex ones in the two pack, as well as the Irwin clones. I like them both fine. The Sears deal is the best way to get those Cobras for lowest cost with points. - Paul
