One thing I noticed looking carefully at the ad today - you can get up to 40 free cabinet pulls after rebate! That is a deal and enough to do about a whole house or shop or garage if you could use them. A few other deals there too depending on if you can use it or not. - Paul

which ad shows this? I'm looking for some cheap cabinet pulls for making a bunch of garage cabinets.

Channel Lock Snap Ring pliers are $16.91. Anyone have any opinions on this set?

They are the same as the Craftsman ones, good but don't expect to remove thicker snap rings with them.

They're great snap ring pliers. Also sold under the Blue Point name by Snap On, as well as several other different brands.

Yeah, they make three different sizes. The largest has a ratcheting system built in to make snap ring removal easier. Those look like the small or medium pair.

New ad out. Really wish they would put the 41" Masterforce tool cabinet on sale sometime. Didn't see much that interested me, although the Sanborn 60 gallon air compressor is $399.

Good deal on Quaker state full synthetic oil $2.49 after rebate. Then you can also do the manufacture rebate they have online for $7.

Does anyone know where I could find some reviews on this compressor or have any experience with it? I've seen it on sale a few times but I've never been able to find much info on it or Sanborn in general.

I was thinking it would be great if Menards allowed reviews on the product page like amazon. I am always weary to purchase something from them that only they sell.

Like what? Most of their Masterforce line is rebadged as other brands as well. Like the Masterforce 10" Contractor Table Saw is also sold by Grainger under the Dayton brand, just a different color and label.

Otherwise Google the model of the item you're looking for with "review" and many times you will find a forum or blog with at least a mention of it. It's a bit more work but I trust that a lot more than reading the reviews on HD and Lowes where you can't completely trust that they are legit since they are there to sell the product. Even Amazon is getting to where reviews of some items sound like a sales pitch.

I just looked at the Menard's ad released today. They have the following deals that are worth grabbing:

- All of Menard's Knipex pliers are on sale including the 10" High Leverage Diagonal Pliers. It is on sale for $29.99: Menard's Knipex 10. Amazon sells it for $49.03: Amazon's Knipex 10.

- The Knipex Orbis angled pliers (found in the electrical supply aisle) are on sale too: Menard's Orbis Angled.

- Menard's has on sale the Energizer 4 pack ("AA" or "AAA") Ultimate Lithium batteries for $6.99 (regularly $8.99). Lowe's sells the 4 pack regularly for $9.99.

Very true. As a general rule, the Masterforce tools seem to be well chosen.

Pretty sure the 10" contractor is made by Bosch, or whoever makes Bosch's saw.

The cordless set I bought for a friend of mine was definitely Bosch or their OEM... the bandsaw was 100% exactly the same save for color.

The 10" variable speed drill press (just discontinued) is the same as the Jet JDP-10... I know because I am looking for a chuck key for it. It uses a stupid 3/8" pilot chuck key and nobody stocks one locally.

I'm talking about the big standalone table saw, not the folding, Bosch doesn't make a large standalone. We've got the Dayton at work, and walking by the one at Menards it caught my eye, and it is almost exactly the same just a slightly different (updated) paddle stop and color.

No idea who makes it though.

Dayton saw

That Dayton saw is the Ridgid R4512. There have been comparisons done on woodworking forums... great saw! I was going to get the Dayton a year ago with the 30% sale at Zoro, but found a brand new Ridgid locally for $250 and couldn't pass it up.

The Menards saw looks similar to the Delta that Lowe's sells.

I got lucky a few years ago they had it on sale and had the 11% off sale going on too! That was before they had the pull up grip latch type thing they have on them now. Mine just open and close like a normal drawer.

It's not exactly identical, but it has some similarities to Craftsman's large saws. AFAIK, most of their stuff is made by Rikon, a Taiwanese company that is known to be of decent quality.

Sanborn makes Craftsman Professional air compressors. I'd bet they make some of the other store brands as well. A quick google search turned up this thread, and I'm sure there are more out there: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=129274

Hasn't Sanborn been owned by Powermate (formerly Coleman Powermate) for quite a few years now?

:see:

MAT Industries, LLC engineers and markets air compressors, pneumatic driven air tools and pressure washers for distribution throughout North America. With in-house product development, engineering, sales and packaging design teams, PEG is uniquely positioned to customize products to meet the individual needs of customers and global markets.

Products are sold under the Powermate, Sanborn, PROFORCE, Industrial Air, and Industrial Air Contractor brand or established private label names at mass retailers, home centers and hardware/farm co-ops across the U.S. and Canada.

Sanborn was bought by Coleman Powermate in the 90s. Coleman Powermate went bankrupt in 2008 and I believe that is when the current owner bought the company.

I have owned an actual Sanborn compressor from the old days that was good, but I am sure the current models have zero relation to the older ones. I see them in Menards all the time and they seem to be about the same as any other mass market compressor.

Yes, they are sold under several different labels including Kobalt, DeWalt, Husky, etc. At least I should be able to find parts down the road. And it's so much quieter than the Craftsman oil-free. It got where the cat would go zooming out of the basement every time he saw me heading for the air compressor.

Menards has this 100' 12-3 extension cord on sale for $35.98. Better price than the Channellock deal in another thread and made in USA to boot.

https://www.menards.com/main/home-d...ed-yellow-extension-cord/p-2387383-c-6410.htm

Other lengths are similarly priced.

Those are CHINESE MADE JUNK, not USA,, at least the ones in my store are MADE IN CHINA. The only 12-3 cords on sale, were a few CHINESE models that looked like ****. The 100' 12-3 USA was over $75

$49.99 in all local stores. I would pick up a few if I could find them for $35 a piece. I have 4-5 100' 12-3 cords (4 of which I bought from Fleet for $30 a piece on clearance!) and always want more :)

It says MADE IN USA on the package.

Well, we'll see what I am given tomorrow when I go for my in store pick up. The link I provided has MADE IN USA RIGHT IN THE PICTURE. Not hard to see either. If they're Chinese, they're still a decent deal for $36 for 100' extension cord.

The photos show Made in the USA, but I seem to recall noticing the cords in the stores no longer have Made in the USA on them. I bought a couple of Made in the USA 12-3 extension cords from Menards last Fall, but I don't recall if they are Smart Electrician or not. So far they are very nice.

What I really want is a decent Made in USA triple outlet 50' 12-3 extension cord.

You should see if your local Home Depot still has the US Wire ones available.

They were $38 I believe, 12-3, 50 ft., made in the USA.
