The Bayco 30-ft 3-Outlet Metal Retractable Cord Reel was on the Ray's List for $21.97. The local store had a couple and they fit the 15% Off Bag so picked them up for $18.76 each.

The heavy-duty (14-3 vs 16/3) is also on sale and will fit in the bag:

Why do you guys like the Crescent bar clamps? - Paul

I just thought they were good for the price. This is my first trigger clamp, all others are Harbor Freight screw handle ones. Swapping the end of the clamp is really easy (push button) and it locks up tight. I don't see ever using the modular system though (one bar being clamped into the second clamp).

I have this in my garage and love it! Wish it was a little longer but works for inside the garage.

This was brought up a few pages back - they still have the Stabilia-made Masterforce 24" levels on clearance for $15. I picked one up in store, though, and was shocked to find it way off. Only tried one but after that I was convinced I'd pass.

How exactly did you determine that it was way off? I picked one up yesterday but haven't tried to use it for anything. Not real sure where I even put the damn thing to be honest lol.

I've been doing some woodworking projects lately and the Crescent clamps have impressed me more than the Irwin Quickgrips. They are significantly cheaper and are easier to adjust and clamp very well. They are short, only 12", but sometimes a longer clamp gets in the way.

Menards had the Jorgensen Cabinet Master clamps on sale a month or so ago. Those are really great for glue-ups or where you need a lot of force, but they cost at least 5 times as much.

Thanks guys. I have some of the older American made Quickgrips, and I've always liked them plenty. I haven't tried these newer Crescent ones. I picked up some Besseys during the HD Black Friday/December deals, which are pretty decent too. I'll have to check these out. - Paul

The bubble should be in the same position in the vial when the level is placed one way compared to 180 degrees the other way.

Just picked up one as well while grabbing a bunch of "bag sale" items. Should have bought 2, so I may head back over tomorrow as the other garage will "want one" as well:lol:

Menards is clearing out their Campbell Hausfeld plasma cutters for $399. Seems to be a pretty good price but it doesn't fit in the 15% off bag, I tried. :(

http://www.menards.com/main/tools-h...campbell-hausfeld-plasma-cutter/p-1858868.htm

A local store had a display model of this cutter sans the box on the clearance shelf, and it WOULD have fit in the bag. I did some quick research on my phone though and found that it's only a 13 amp cutter, and will at max, only cut 1/8" steel, so I passed. It's normally about $579 though. Bag would have gotten it down to $340.

I did use the sale as an excuse though to pick up a few single gearwrench wrenches and the larger 4 pc metric set of them.

This. I was shocked honestly.

It didn't look like a major error (IE it looked good at a glance) but was just off.

OK, I have checked out the Crescent clamps and I agree these are good for the price. Did not realize these were clearance at $14.99, normally $30 or $40 a set at HD, and with the 15% off bag, even less for a pair. Good deal. It is an improved design over the older QuickGrips, even my desirable and better US made ones from the early 90's. Made in Taiwan coo too, not china. I got a set. Thanks guys for the share on this one! - Paul

I bought the same saw about a month ago. I like it a lot. The laser works amazingly well. My only complaint is with the clamp which is okay but finicky to adjust and a minor pain if you have to move it from one side to the other. Someone must do a better miter saw clamp.

Too bad it won't fit into the bag.

Picked up a Lenux hacksaw on sale for 4.99 plus the 15% off

http://www.menards.com/main/p-2422571-c-9123.htm

I don't know how I missed that one. Another good buy.

Here is one not on sale now but worth getting sometime from Menards, perhaps now with the 15% sale:

http://www.menards.com/main/p-2229526-c-12915.htm

This is the reusable canister spot sprayer. You charge it with your compressor air, put whatever flluid in it you want, and you have your own homemade spray can. Can use for anything, anti corrosion oil for your tools, thinned paint or stain, garden insecticide or fertilizer, whatever! $8.99 normal price. It is over by the compressor paint sprayer guns in my store.

And here's another idea: Guidesman knife/multitool set. These are China coo but not terrible for China. Your store may or may not have them, on clearance at $9.99 a set now. Good with the 15% off additional. Has a little curved tiny knife I will use for gardening purposes to cut off produce from the stem (peppers, eggplants, squash, etc.) That alone is worth $3 to me but the whole set is only $8.50 or so after the 15%.

http://www.menards.com/main/tools-h...ece-multi-tool-combo-set/p-2166758-c-9169.htm

Oh, and Food! Vortman cookies, Shorelunch 8 serving bag of Tortilla Soup mix, Some Progresso soup for $1.25 each on sale, V8 Juice on sale too. - Paul

anyone able to find/purchase the masterforce 7'' discontinued LEFT snips?
to trade or for purchase, shipping to me?
looking for 2 pair.
been to 6 stores, out of stock, even though a search shows them 'in stock'.
http://www.menards.com/main/tools-h...ut-compact-aviation-snip/p-2122989-c-9123.htm

Hi metaldad, I didn't get left, but did find that in my store, these are stocked right in with the other regular MF pliers and not all in the same place either. Straight was in one spot, right a few feet away, etc., and none of them labelled as on clearance but showing the $12.99 price. I had to ask a store helper to find them and then to verify they really were at the $4.99. Well they were. So i got them. I like these a bunch. Only mini snippers like them I've found and well worth the $4.25 each with the bag sale price. - Paul

Alot of times, I find the Menards help to be really helpful in general. They often don't have the prices changed on the clearance stuff or even know it is on clearance unless they check. Rarely is stuff moved to the actual clearance section, just intermixed with the rest. I just ask. They take 5 minutes to find it or tell me about it and I do other stuff till they are done. If your store inventory shows these are in your store, they *probably* really are but Menards may not know it! Usually the inventory quantity shown is pretty close, within an item or two mostly. - Paul

Ok, got it. I had to stare at the rack in my store for like 10 minutes before I saw them there though! Maybe that is just me... Someone here may come through for you with these yet.... - Paul

I got the 4" Masterforce vise yesterday. It looked way better than the 4" performax vise and at 5 bucks cheaper I figured it would be worth a shot. The strange thing was there were no other masterforce vises left besides the 4". Not even a floor model. Anyone know if they're being discontinued or something?

Masterforce should be the better brand than performax. Lowest tier Menards is Tool Shop, then Performax in the middle and Masterforce on top.

Lifetime warranty on the masterforce vice too. Not really sure how anything could break on it since it's so heavy.

bwhahaha, Ive seen 2 Chinese wiltons brake the jaw clean off. All it takes is 1 fat fisted gorilla pulling on the handle too hard and they snap right off. They're adequate for most medium duty work, but keep this mind when really trying to hold something tight. Id hate to see someone loose some teeth when things let go.

I know its a little late but did anyone else pick up the tie down straps from the clearance section? $12.99 plus the 15% off. Really nice straps for $11. Thick orange webbing, nice heavy ratcheting mechanism. 12' long IIRC
