Is Menards just going to be running the 11% rebates forever now? This is now week three for the rebates. They often put stuff on sale for much more than 11% off when they run their regular sales. I know some stuff rarely goes on sale so the 11% can be a good deal for those items.

True. I never buy anything on an 11% rebate week unless it also has a red sale tag or something that rarely-if-ever goes on sale.

11 Percent is a great deal for me. Self employed small time contractor. This is like free money.

I like to use it to stock up on the little supplies and things for projects that don't go on sale much or at inconvenient times when you didn't know you needed it before. Also for the food items when you can use them. Sometimes I find various food items on sale unadvertised when the 11% are going on too. - Paul

I think that had one week off it a couple back. But at least 4 out of the last 5. And seems like at least once a month before that. I like Menards but this is getting a bit ridiculous. Might as well just make it permanent at this point.

first and last week of june, rest where 11% off lol. too bad there a no stores any were near me sound like I would shop there more often then lowes or HD.

I don't know sort of redemption rate Menards gets on these rebates, but if they are going to run 11% nearly every week they should just lower prices by 5% or something and forget the rebates. They would probably sell more if they lowered prices store wide by 5% than doing the rebates.

It's mental. Most sheep see 11% rebate and jump on it. 5% off normal prices would just be the new normal.

Yes, but also, it doesn't work well for the home center type store. They try to capture the project do-ers who need a few things for their project NOW. That is the bread and butter of these stores. They need higher prices to capture them and force them to pay. The 11% or sales capture those not in the middle of a project but are "dreamers" who will buy stuff then for future plans. I'd much much rather have the sales or the 11% than nothing. Compare to Walmart. They don't really have sales. Their normal prices are OK but really not that great. Menards is often cheaper than Walmart for the same thing when on sale. - Paul

I'd be interested to see how many customers follow through with sending in the rebates AND using the rebate checks when they arrive. Isn't the premise for most rebates that customers see a great deal but never follow through with the process?

I wouldn't want the 5%. That's what I mean, it's an invisible gain. The 11% is much more applicable for me in a multitude of ways.

the 11% is a gift card how do you redeem a gift card? at the store the entire purpose of the "rebate" is to get you back into the store, and it works

I've always liked the Victorinox knives. I have a couple with a lot more gadgetry than this one! A good deal for that price. Victorinox Swiss Army knives are very high quality. - Paul

So I made it over to Menards today. Noticed they have on sale for $4.99 the 12" long magnetic tool box add on trays for the sides of it. That is about 1/2 normal price. China COO of course. But useful. Also, they have the China Masterforce 21 Oz fiberglass hammer for just a few $ after rebate, and a ToolShop 14" bolt cutter for similar after rebate. These are great prices if you can use them at all. - Paul

I love Menards, but I might just switch all my shopping to Home Depot if they don't quit with the 11% rebates. I haven't purchased enough in a single week recently to really make it worth the 49 cents to mail in the rebate.

The times I purchased a fair amount of stuff this summer the items were on sale and more than 11% off.

I know what you mean. I've been a big Menard's shopper for years. Between the brutal weather this summer and these 11% weeks I hardly ever go there anymore.

Why not save them up and send them in all at once?

The rebate forms for the 11% promotions generally need to be postmarked within 3 weeks following the sale end date. I have been mailing 3-4 weeks worth of rebates together without problems.

Newest ad is a winner. Starts Sunday. Free stacking storage jars, t-shirts, notebooks, pens, night lights, mini blinds, personal fan, windshield cleaning tool, rain poncho, and wiper blades. Also lots of very cheap after rebate items such as chalk line and chalk for $1.49, and the general cheap school supplies.

That's something I'll check into. I don't see how you could mail in the same receipt for two different rebates.

You get separate receipts for each rebate item...then you would get a separate receipt for the 11% off.

If next weeks sale prices are in the system already. The Marshall, MN add come out online on Thursday midnight (Friday morning) so I go shopping Friday morning so everything is still in stock.

How are you guys seeing the add from the Marshall MN store? I've tried everything but my browser on my phone keeps reverting to my local store when I click on the weekly add link.

You have to deliberately change your home store to be Marshall MN to get it to show it and see the next week's ad early. They don't always do the "crossover" with the 11% sales for one day on Friday or Saturday, but sometimes they *do* so may be worth it for you to try depending.

Once about two years back, they had a crossover one day event where an 11% off and a 11% off bag sale were combined. I did that and also used a gift card I had bought previously at 11% off that when they allowed it, for a combo of like 33% off whatever fit in the bag for one day only!!! We need some more deals like that Menards for your loyal customers! Or let us buy the gift cards with the 11% off again. You get cash flow. We get a nice deal for your very few most loyal customers who would bother with the hassle! - Paul
