I thought they fit the screws just fine, what I ended up not liking about them was the slick handles, a little factory grime and a hot, sweaty day = completly useless. I took them out of my carry pouch and left them at my desk.

Thank you. I appreciate the info.

It seems Menard's has extended the 11% off (mail-in rebate) everything promo for another week.

man that seems like a good price. been wanting to get some more basement shelving, this just might be too nice to pass up. although i would prefer no hole shelves opposed to waterfall style

Might not look the best, but you could always cut some thin plywood to size and cover the open shelves with that.

Plywood I think would be a good idea. Mine has a good sag in the middle shelf from something I had sitting there. It does fine with the weight even distributed. Even so OSB would probably help spread out the weight a bit.

My local menards has had aircraft-length drill bits on clearance for stupid low prices. The brand is Performax or something similar. I believe the 1/16 size was around $0.50. They had a decent selection remaining.

I can't speak to how well these stand up, but they are handy for general use when you just can't reach something.

I’ve been himming and hawing at those, the ones by me haven’t quite fell that cheap yet but was wondering about performance myself

There has to be some major changes coming to their drill bit aisle with all the performax bits being reduced as well as a few other brands

The credit is as good as cash as long as you planned to spend more money at Menards anyhow.

That's the way I see it. When the rebates start building up I start buying more stuff in the grocery section. As long as they don't start putting expiration dates on them.

Their current ad ends on Saturday, Aug 4. That's a sign that 11% probably starts on Sunday, Aug. 5.
Normally the sale ad ends on Sunday but if it ends on a Saturday then usually 11% starts on Sunday.

It really isn't. Plenty of ads end on Saturday without 11 starting on Sunday. I haven't noticed more ads ending on Sunday than Saturday. They always end on Saturday if 11 will start on Sunday just so they don't overlap. Even once in a great while the 11 ends on a Sunday so you get a day overlap of sale prices.

This has been debated on here plenty of times. It has changed over the years as the 11% would often overlap on Sunday when a regular sale would end and the 11% started, but I have not seen that happen in about 2 years.

Nearly always if a regular sale ad ends on a Saturday, 11% will follow the next week so that they do not overlap. The only time I have seen this not hold true in recent years are the several weeks surrounding black Friday where they do not want regular sale ads overlapping.

11% always ends on a Saturday whether it will be continued into the next week or not. Until somebody gets next weeks ad, we have no way of knowing what will follow an 11% week.

I have yet to see anybody prove these "hypotheses" wrong, but feel free to do so with an actual example.

no ads ended yesterday. The ad you are referring to started on 7/22 and runs until 8/4.

11% starts the next day on 8/5.

While you guys were busy wasting your time auguring about 11% off, I was busy reading their ad and getting two Stanley utility knives for free...thank you very much!

They hadn't done the stanley knife deal in years, I was glad to see it back.

I must be getting better and non-verbal communication with the wife, as after she asked "why do you need more, don't you already have one in every room of the house", I simply looked at her and she put them in the cart for me. :pimpflash

Does anyone think the Masterforce miter saw stand is a good buy at $70 after the mail in rebate? Normally $99, I have been wanting a stand for a while for my 12” Dewalt, but don’t want to pay $199 for their stand.

If you can wait until Black Friday Home Depot may have the Ridgid Mobile Miter Saw Stand AC9946 on sale for $99. I bought one last year and absolutely love it.

I 2nd the Ridgid stand. I think I have the previous iteration of it, but still essentially the same.

I'm sure the MF is fine, but I've tended to shy away from their offerings.

I will also recommend the Rigid stand. I bought the Rigid 12" saw and stand last year on Black Friday. The stand is well built and easy to use.

Yes it's a great deal. Good stand at that price. I have the porta mate one that was a lack Friday special a year or 2 ago for lile 35 bucks with a roller stand. While it's decent it could be a little stronger and more straight. If I didn't have one of jump on the masterforce. I don't care if mine folds down as I keep it on the stand. I also have a dewalt saw, they're heavy. If my porta mate will hold my saw fine that masterforce should be totally good for it

The Ridgid is the best stand around, especially when onsale. I bought two for $149 Canadian last fall and they have dropped and raised the price every few weeks.

What makes the Ridgid so good over the Masterforce or Dewalt? It seems unanimously recommended. To me the Dewalt, Masterforce and Ryobi miter saw stands all seems very similar, is it that the Rigid stand the saw can stay mounted for transport?

My opinion is only that I am using the Ridgid myself. Not an item I will ever have the chance of trying more than one most likely. I think the DeWalt is good as well, very similar to the Ridgid.

The wheels off he Ridgid & DeWalt are on the ground, and I know the Ridgid can be stored vertically. I'd rather not have to lift half the stand to fold the legs, like it looks like one might have to do on the Masterforce.

You should check your Home Depot and get the Bosch it still might be on sale for $150 I know I checked a few months ago and saw it for $150 I was going to buy a 2nd for my other saw but didn't really need it with the other Dewalt stands I got. I had 2 of the Ridgids and really wasn't a fan. I think the Ridgids now are a updated version. Still use my Dewalt Heavy Duty (Saw horse type) the long and the shorty, the shortys are really great for horses and a quick miter saw setup.
