I am building a 24 x 36 shop with 10' ceilings and starting to plan for the lighting. I will be woodworking in the shop. I seen Menards has 4' shop lights on sale more that 50% off at $12.98 after 11% rebate. Is this a decent way to light my shop and if so, how many should I buy. Any other suggestions. Here is the link to the light description at Menards.

Assuming you are going to wire the fixtures into a wall switch, you don't want lights with a plug or a switch on them. Menards sells 4' and 8' long 2 bulb wide fixtures which take 4' T8 bulbs.

I used this tool: http://www.gelighting.com/LightingW...sistant-toolkit/lighting-layout-estimator.jsp to figure out how many bulbs I needed. I went for 100 foot candles and assumed my lighting requirement would be double what the tool came up with since my light fixtures have no reflectors and are mounted on a 14' ceiling.
