This is my first posting, but I had to share the deal I found.

Menards has a Montezuma 72" Stainless Steel Tool Chest on sale for $499.

I know the 11% rebate is done, but it's still a great deal.

I picked one up and I'm impressed with the quality and build.

It has a nice laminated top and very high end locking casters.

These are on clearance, and I'm not sure why they're not advertising these, but here's the link:

BTW, this think is HEAVY. Make sure you bring someone to help lift this. It took 4 guys to get this in the back of my truck.

I had thought the same thing, but I'm in the process of setting it up as a charging station and storage for all my cordless tools so they're not sitting on the top work surface.

The center section pulls out like a drawer. It has a divider on the center of it with built in ribs for hanging these on both sides:

Very tempted, website shows 11 available at my local Menards. I'm assuming this is the same 24" depth as their other 72" boxes. Is that correct?

Also interesting how they use 4 5x2" casters when their other 72" boxes use 6 6x2" casters.

Edit: using their 1,296 in^2 work surface figure you get 18" as the depth

I'm not near the box now, but I'd say 24" depth seems spot on.

Before I bit the bullet, i checked the Montezuma site, and yes, all their other 72" units have 6 wheels, but for a weekend warrior, I doubt this will be an issue.

I had this on a flat dolly on one end and a floor jack on the other when I was installing the wheels, and there was no flex at all.

It also rolled smoothly on my gravel strewn garage floor and I was able to "parallel park" it between my workbench and a steel cabinet with minimal effort and a half inch of clearance.

I had thought about buying a similar-layout Seville Classics bench from Sam's Club to use as a drill press/stationary sander station as well as some extra storage. Unfortunately I decided I didn't have the room, but either one would be great for such a use. The Seville was about $100 less, but probably not build as well as this unit.

I did not measure but I'm positive they weren't 24" when I saw them in the store. Much closer to 18.

They were on the black friday deals ... when you check the weight it is very light compared to other 72 inboxes

My brother has one. I would call it a light duty box. Very nice looking for the money. Probably fine for home use.

That's correct - they are NOT 24" deep. Also as others have noted, they are light duty. Not a bad option if budget is tight and space is limited. If budget and space (deeper and taller) allows, I would highly recommend waiting until the Masterforce 72" goes back on sale.....a very nice box for the money.

What was the sale price?
