I'm looking at some trusses from Menards for a pole barn build. I would like to hear from some of you that have used them.

My question is, on what centers did you use them? The website says 9' centers. Is this what any of you went with? I'm not sure I trust that much of a span between.

Also, did you have them delivered to your site? Was delivery reasonable?

Thanks,

Ed

We built a garage in Milwaukee last summer. I was very impressed with the service from Menards. All delivered on time in good condition. When the rebar was delivered they were out of the size we ordered and upgraded a size free. We had one piece of garage door damaged, they brought out a new door in about 3 hours. Could not ask for better service. Also got the 11% off of entire purchase deal.

Mine were 8' on center for a 40x80 building from them. 100MPH winds and colorado snow load.

9' may be the max, but does not make any sense, given the standard sizes of roofing material. 4' or 8' are logical.

I built a 36x50x15 building, full kit from Menards. My posts are 6.25' on center for a total of 9 trusses. I upgraded the truss with a heavier bottom cord - 2x8, for overhead storage and just overall strength. The trusses were of very good quality, the laminate post were not nearly as good though.
