I was in Menards the other day looking around and went to their hand tool section. I was glancing through their socket sets. For some reason this 6pt socket caught my eye in a 12pt set. Upon looking at it closer, one side was stamped Craftsman 17mm and the other side was stamped Masterforce 11/16. I thought it was kind of funny. Probably a socket by Danaher, and probably like the time I found a Stanley ratchet in a Husky socket set package.

I did notice their impact sets are still USA. :rocker:

Masterforce and Craftsman come from the same factory, just a mix-up. Almost all of the hand tools by Masterforce are Craftsman. Some of the older stock is Allen branded. I have some of it and it's good stuff.

Masterforce however has something Craftsman does not (still made in the US too in most cases). I was blown away by the quality for the price you got with Masterforce, especially because it wasn't even on my radar that Menards had quality USA made tools.

That alone bumped Menards over Lowes/HD for me.

I was happy to walk past the Masterforce display of wrenches the other day and notice it was pretty wiped out of stock. The wrenches have the same pebble finish as Allen. I hope to buy made in USA stuff there for a long time to come.
