Hey guys, I figured that I would put this here as it is the tool section, after all.

Small back story, my father owns and has owned a Jewelry store for 36 years. My brother has been working with him as a jeweler for the past 5 or so.

Some time ago, my brother, being somewhat into cars, grabbed a small Craftsman 3/16" ignition wrench out of the small ignition wrench set and thought he would try to make a ring out of it. It worked, but the steel would not agree very well with your skin after some time.

Fast forward a couple years and there have been various changes. There are now 3 versions of the ring, all cast in any material you would like to have. Mainly silver for cost reasons, but he has made one in gold for a customer.

These are for sale and if anybody wants one, you can PM me on here and I'll handle the sale from beginning to end. Prices start at $129 and go up depending upon options, but GarageJournal Members get 10% off!

The process takes some time, but we do have 5 or so on hand, 3 are still in rough casting. They are size 10 from the mold, but can be engraved, resized, even have stones set in them. Whatever your imagination and wallet will allow.

Here are the rings. You'll see the 3 versions. Let me know your feedback!

Thanks for the quick feedback everyone! I knew that you guys would like this :D

to answer the questions at hand...
98TJ: We have at least one of each of the 3 styles ready to go now in a sz10

ihred04: Let me know when you're ready!

Stick: Good question. I will inquire tomorrow am bright and early.

chadster1: I thought the same thing, I'm sure we could do it. Outlawmws does have a point, but Snap On doesn't need to know... lol. I do believe we can have laser etching done also. I'll find out if we can, and if so, a price.
Question for you: Does Snap-On sell the small ignition wrenches like the Craftsman? I'm sure they do, but we would need to do another mold altogether, which in itself is a cost.
I'd say at this point we could probably do the Craftsman with a Snap On style, and I think we can get them laser etched as well. Whatever the info, I will find out in the am for you!

Not to rain on yer parade, but there is a jeweler in Colorado Springs making those already. He also has one available with a stone in the box end. Available in silver or gold at his shop and a couple other outlets.

*Edit* You didn't post your location, maybe you are him?

Merry Christmas everyone!

Mt2marc1: ahh yes, perhaps you're right. I couldn't tell if it was a question or a statement. I'll still find out anyway.
Even11: we are located in MA and had never seen one before we made one. I assume it would be possible that 2 people had the same idea and resources, so I'm not upset. We also can put a stone in the closed end, we actually have one right now, I guess I just missed it when we were taking pictures.
glockman: I agree! Lol

Stay tuned!

More info. Tungsten and Ti are a no-go at this stage. Possibly in the future, but for right now its silver, gold, and platinum.
We can do custom hand engraving, and even laser engraving if wanted.

Do you have a picture of one with a gem in it? I have 2 girls and would love to have their birthstones but think it would take away from the design. HMMM

Finally got one.

It is silver with the letters from the wrench cast into it.

These can be whatever size you want, 10 was the size the mold was made from as it's "in the middle" of men's sizing and most common. If you are interested, feel free to ask me anything

I want one, where do you order from?
From me
You have PM

Might be just me but i kinda like the "rough casting look" do you sell them that way ?

Great question! We definitely can do that.

We can go with cast finish like the williams or craftsman rp wrenches, a brushed matte type finish (think stainless steel appliance), and we can even do a low-luster polished style which looks really cool. Tough to explain that last one, but it ends up almost hammertone with a light polish look.

We don't have any of the aforementioned textures at the ready to take pictures of, but it would be a great idea to see the different textures we can achieve, so stay tuned!

But you can get it for $40 a week!

Would the classified section be a better place for this since you are wanting to sell something?

I thought about that, but its not technically a for sale thread, it's more of a discussion topic. It may have been better in the general section, but if a mod wants it moved, then by all means move it.
