hi guys,

been reading garage journal for a while and now finally have a need to post. i bought a metabo grinder with the auto balancer and the only way i can figure to attach the guard is to hammer it past the balancer. i just wanted second opinions before i take a hammer to this beautiful tool.

dont hit it!
every metabo i have you have to rotate the guard onto the tool.
read the directions that came with the tool, or at least put up a p/n

if it's anything like my Milwaukee, the guard has tabs on it and the grinder body has slots in it. You push a little detent lever on the grinder, rotate the guard until the tabs align with slots, fit into place, then rotate the guard to lock it into position.

yeah it's like that. i do feel dumb because this isnt rocket science. i can see how everything works and lines up. the nubs on the inside of the guard seem to be just a little too big to slide over the balancer. i think i will file them down a bit
