Hi,

I'm in the market for a grinder.

The other day i had to cut a Range Rover rear upper wishbone out as the bolts had seized in the bushes as they usually do.

I used a Ryobi grinder with a cutting disc and it worked but getting access was a pain.

I've seen the Metabo before:

Think it will be great for things like that for limited space.

Snap on offers this grinder as a cordless version too, no doubt at twice the price.

I'm only interested in the corded version though.

Anyone got one and care to share experiences with it ?

I have one and it is great for getting in tight areas. It takes a 5" wheel with the guard it comes with. I don't use it as a regular grinder since it was close to 300$.

I'm also on the look-out for one when they will hit the second hand market. Too expensive to buy for now and then use.

I know you're only interested in corded. Personally agree with you on that decision.

Just so you're aware though, Metabo also made a cordless version of that, and the batteries are larger than snap ons (think it was 3.0 AH vs 5.0 AH ?). So if you did end up having to go cordless, the metabo version would probably be cheaper, and it has bigger batteries.

The Snap on truck was in this week.

The dealer had the cordless Snappy branded one.

The low profile head is REAL nice. Overall build quality seems high.

I will go for the corded Metabo unit when cash allows

Then put it through it's paces with a Range rover wishbone.
