I may grab one. Being that most all electric power tools are outsourced, what is better about Metabo? I was looking at a Bosch 4.5'' grinder.

Metabo used to make grinders that were hard to kill, but they were also made in Germany. Allegedly the new round bodies (older ones had a squarish shape) are not nearly as durable, maybe this is when production went to China, I don't know.

My 4-1/2 Metabo is made in Germany. Bought it in '06 for a little over $100. It's an excellent grinder. The steel case was included.

Yeap they used to be bomb proof, not sure now.
I just bought an air one and it's sweet.

The Germany made ones are still rock solid, but they cost allot more then the cheaper Chinese ones.

Pretty much the german metabo are one of the best you can get with hand grinders. I replace my german bosch with a german metabo. Been super happy with it.

Metabo is the grinder most commonly found in sheet metal shops around here. At least shops that know what they are doing. A guy i worked with said he was a 5th degree black belt in Metabo. And yes, the german ones are the way to go.

that grinder is a cheapie. I have several metabo grinders. my favorite one is the w 11-150. slightly bigger body than my w8-115. I also have a w 8-115 at home. best grinders made IMO. I love the quick change nut.
