I made this memorial piece for my wives grandparents the past few weeks. Turned out pretty well I think. It needs another round on the polisher yet.

I worked from the top down. Made the bird then polished. Attached it to the stem. Made the brass internals of the flower slid up the stem from the bottom to the top. Attached that then made the petals from some copper. Polished them up and Attached them. Made all the leaves with the tiniest welds I could. Polished them all then attached them one at a time from top to bottom with some polishing between each weld. The base is actually a 3/8 pc of mild steel I laminated 12g stainless steel onto all sides.

Very nice. Seeing this reminds of when a humming bird flew up to a metal art rose I have on the deck.
