I have a 40' X 50' X 14' metal building. It "had" blown on cellulose insulation. We had a hell of a hail storm and it beat most of the insulation down. We have scraped all of the remaining insulation off. My plan is to run vinyl faced batts between the purlins supported by straps running perpendicular to the purlins. After reading here I am concerned about condensation. I considered spray foam first and then the batts but the expense is too much. The shop is full of machinery so it isn't easy to move around on a ladder. Anyone with suggestions?

Spray foam is your BEST option. But it may be much cheaper to buy ridged foam insulation. I am putting it directly on the purlins in my barn, leaving an air gap to the siding (in my case wood)
