..have a ridge vent? If so, is it open or does it have a filter media of some sort? Do you get any water or snow inside your attic?

Thanks!

My barn has Closeure strips to filter the air entering the attic via ridge vent. Its a cool product Its a foam with 3m tape and steel wool like fibers to filter the air. I have had no blowing rain enter the attic space. I also have vented sofits. I did install baffles to keep insulation from filling them up with insulation.

I didn't want to chance leaks in my steel building. No skylight panels, no vents, no chimneys, nothing. I still had leaks where screws missed the purlins and they just puttied the holes over. Leaked several years later. I ended up on the roof cleaning each identified leak and sealing it with RTV in a caulking gun tube. But I digress................

Neighbor has a openable vent in the peak of his steel building. I think it has screen wire in it to keep out birds, etc. He rarely opens it, says it has little effect.

Same as above, no holes in my roof except for screws. I do have several holes in walls for exhaust, auto exhaust, portable AC exhaust and welding exhaust.

Never liked holes in the roof.

Do you know what the brand name of the product you used is?

I installed gable vents and then made some doors that I can seal up in case of a hurricane.

My metal roof is horizontal so a ridge vent would have been a pain to do with out leaking.
Lucky, my building has 9ft sidewalls so it's tall enough that the roof isn't seen to much. (I would of love to have vertical roof, but the cost wasn't worth it for me)(Live in south so snow isn't an issue here)
