Ryan -

In your area, NO question Mueller...

and have the Manager recommend experienced Erectors they have a repeated positive history of.

Mueller deals w whoever writes the check to them, which is normally the Owner of the building.

Or, some Erectors buy from Mueller and sell the erected service to the landowner.

Point is, Mueller know Erectors, and will refer.

Did a 60 x 80 x 16 from them in Rockport, TX 15 yrs ago, erected by a crew referred by them..

VERY pleased w EVERYTHING.

I would be glad to speak w you on that if you would like.

DANGGG..

Got sucked into OLDDDD OP thread...

Never mind !!

Marc

That's ok. Old threads never die. I've been trying to find a good metal building/installer in Asheville NC and this thread popped up.

I’m just down the road from you in between San Marcos and Wimberley, I built a 40x60 from DDM pipe and steel. Great building and folks to work with. Price beat mueller and metal mart. They have an office about 10 miles or so east of the airport. I did everything over the phone except pay them. The shipping was well communicated and on time. I’ve got a good contact for spray foam. The guy I used for the erection I would not recommend to anyone. I was paying someone to get it up in 6 days, not 6 weeks. Holler at me if you have any more questions or want to see the building.

Find a local metal building builder with good references. Let him source the material. I got bids from 3 different builders. After talking to them, looking at the quotes, and listening to the references, it was easy to pick my guy.

Built my 36' x 50' x 12'h Butler building forty years ago. About 8 years ago, my aluminum roof was beginning to have a few issues (leaks around the skylights). A micro burst peeled the roof back just like opening a sardine can. Had a new steel roof from Butler installed. I use the front half for mechanical and wood working. The rear half is my machine shop. The building is insulated with 2" of fiberglass. I have had good luck with my Butler, only thing I wish I had done differently was a steeper roof. My roof has 1/4" per 12" pitch. I would do that different now. My original roof had 4 sky lights. They cause a little trouble when Ice built up 2 " thick and started to thaw, they would leak a little, With new roof, I left the skylights out. I had a wall built aross the middle so to isolate the machine shop. The machine shop side is heated and airconditioned. There are no windows, so I had to put in AC because here in the Ohio River valley, we get plenty of humidity and heat.
