I have attached pictures of the trusses in my shop. I need to lift a 500 lb compressor off of the back of a pickup truck. Thinking about using chain horse on the truss to lift. Think it would be able to take that much weight on one side of the truss? Thanks 68cb7b25f034ffd0c031999bd97b6090.jpg

Try just hanging on it to see if it flexes at all.

I would think that it would be Ok if you used a strap just above the brace and lift it.

500lbs is not that heavy.

Threw a chain over it... I pulled down on it and it kind of flexed slightly... was concerned.

Get a 2x10 and shove it in the gaps between the trusses to bridge as many as possible then hook your chain hoist to the middle of the board.

Get 3 pieces of 4x4, one long enough to span the trusses and the other 2 about 4-6' long.

Temporarily attach the other 2 3x3 to the bottom of the trusses (tie wraps, twine, whatever).

Now get 4 2x4 long enough to jam between the bottom of the 4x4 and the floor. They should be long enough that you have to knock them in tight with a hammer.

If you are real paranoid, put a second 4x4 on the top of the truss but make sure it is well secured. Put the cross 4x4 on that.
