doing metal ceiling panels in my garage and down to the last row which includes the garage door tracks.
The track uses angle iron that is attached to the truss in two spots, making a Y. Planned to do 1 or 2 small pieces around the support, then one big piece that covers most of it but it's kicking my....
How strong are the tracks without the support? Do I need a 2x4 vertical support under to support the weight?
Thinking about taking one side down, doing the run, then drilling two small 1.5" holes then re attaching the channel. Fill with some type of foam and painting.
OR
Cutting half the angle iron off where it attached to the truss, so it's just a single flat piece of metal that extends thru the panel. Then below you would still see the true angle iron. Thanks!
