Going to be installing a 29 gauge metal ceiling (insulated) in my pole barn. I'm installing metal clad cable to each fixture. I'm going to flush mount the T-5 fixtures to the ceiling.

Can just drill a hole in the metal panel, push the Metal clad cable through it (no grommet) put a Metal clad connector on the flourescent light, attached the Metal clad cable to the connector, and push the Metal clad connector back up through the hole ?

BX & metal clad cable are two different items and are covered by two different NEC articles, the stuff at Home Depot is metal clad.

BX is trade slang for armored cable.

Edited my original post, thanks.

My plan is to use metal clad.
