Metal Ceilings: Do they sweat?

I am trying to finish up my 5 year "labor of love" garage build and the ceiling is one of the things I have left to do. I was planning a suspended ceiling but I am really digging the corrogated metal ceilings I am seeing here on some threads....

I do have a question though.... Do they sweat? If you have your garage door open in the humid summer months and over the night when the tempertaure drops, will it RAIN in the garage?

I hope that someone with a metal ceiling will chime in here!!!!!

Thanks in advance for any comments or replies....

Do you get sweating on your garage door rails, door handles, garage door opener or other metal things?

I think this would all depend on climate, the way your home is constructed and other variables.

I would say No, but cant be positive

Had my ceiling up for maybe 2 years. I have never noticed a problem with it. I have no insulation above it yet either. Although that will be changing soon! WOooHooo- HEAT!

If you are heating your shop there's a good chance moisture will condense on them. I've been in a few steel buildings with no insulation and heat on a cold day, and you get rained on.

Haney - I'm glad you're asking about this. I want to do the exact same thing (thinking unpainted, galvanized - I like the looks) and have the exact same reservations about moisture....

Question for JKeyser - are you saying that if the buildings are NOT insulated and NOT heated, they rain?

or are you saying that if a building is NOT insulated but DOES have heat, it's raining in there?

No sweating here. Mine's heated to 50F year round. The ceiling fans run on low 24/7 to keep the air moving. R38 blown in over the ceiling. Vapor barrier between the ceiling steel and insulation.
