Does anyone make new metal signs for conversion or tap charts?

Saw this one posted on here somewhere and thought some thing like this would be great for the shop.

They are pretty handy. I had the same question, and mentioned it to a friend of ours, and he gave us a vintage one that he had in his basement. We hung it next to the milling machine for a reference. It's a bit faded, I think it sat near a window for many years, but it looks pretty pretty damn close to the same thing you posted

That is awesome. Isn't there a guy on GJ or at least that is liked that sells all kinds of metal signs? Usually old Gas and Oil stuff. Maybe he needs to make some of these.

I have a metal US general ruler type thing that is a tap/drill/decimal chart. Super handy. Got it for ~25¢ at a garage sale a while back IIRC.

O... that one AP mech makes looks sweet. Like everything else he makes. Even has the feed and speed formula. No detail spared, as expected.

I know this is about metal charts, but for those who can settle for a paper chart, Sarrett gives away poster charts. Just frame it and hang it.

Not sure if this link will work: http://starrett.qconnect.com/
Under Education.
I have an account to get to this page. You might have to register.

They also have more charts and guides for free.

If you just want the information and don't care about the antique looks. I have a plastic one I bought from Enco. The plastic is nice since it's rip resistant and oil and dirt just wipe off. Enco P/N 327-0057, $3.96

I know you're looking for metal, but Starrett offers a nice poster that's free...

Tap drill size calculator

If you don't have a chart/card for this it's kind of a cool trick:

Newman Tool's handy hint. For Metric sizes only. Diameter of thread minus the pitch equals the tap drill size.
eg. M6 x 1
6 - 1 = 5mm
and you thought metric was difficult ;-)thanks to Jay Steinbuchel of Barksdale Control Products for the following:
This works for all 75% threads, not just metric.
For example, the tap drill for 3/8-16 is 5/16.
The pitch is 1/16". (1 / threads per inch = inches per thread)
3/8 - 1/16 = 5/16.
For other sizes that don't work out so nicely, just use the closest drill size.

This came from here(calculator at bottom of page):

Those Paulding metal charts are nice, wouldn't mind having a couple of them.

Agreed. I'd buy some of the Paulding ones.

But those starrets are nice.

rshadd,

I just ordered the Starret units. I thought I would at least have to pay shipping. Went through the whole checkout and it never asked me for a card or mentioned shipping. I will most likely put it in some cheap frame I can find at walmart.

I also downloaded them as PDFs. At work I have access to a Plotter and could print this to just about any size I need. I wonder if there is a place that can custom print metal signs from PDF?
