I finished mine off with T&G OSB. There is a link in my signature with pics.

There is a thread that has a guy using old fence boards for the interior walls. Probably would be hard to do with metal girts but it sure looks cool.

Baggerboy...

:needpics:

Seriously, more details needed for us to give better input. What kind of work will be done there, where is it located (hot, cold, both), what's your budget, will it be one big space or segregated, etc., etc., etc.?

I don't see the T&G in your pics. Have any?

It can get really noisy with the metal walls , when grinding, hammering, music, etc. If You have a Big TV or stereo, the acoustics can be terrible.

Hang some tapestry if you want it to soften things up :bounce: I think if you do white interior metal walls the reflection of light is good, it's relatively simple to take off if you ever have to get inside the wall, and I'd rather have those features than good acoustics.

My 36x48 garage is finished with OSB and 3 coats of paint, white on top, dark gray on the bottom 4 feet and a 6 inch red stripe between. Looks good but is hard to clean. Nails and screws leave little damage. Cell phones work well in the building.
My 40x60 garage is finished with the bottom 4 feet being 3/4 inch subflooring sheets for durability and the rest of the walls and ceiling being white corrugated metal barn siding. It is very bright and easy to clean, but hanging anything means a hole forever. Cell phones do not work inside this building.

My father has a large pole barn and he lined the shop walls and ceiling with the same metal they used on the outside. He doesn't hang much from the wall and uses shelves to store everything. It looks nice and helps with the brightness inside.

We install steel wall and ceiling panels frequently. It's very reflective, durable, easily cleaned, easily replaced or pulled back to do work behind it. Lots of pluses.

Cost comparison to sheet rock - assuming you pay for the installation - is pretty close to a wash since there's no mudding and painting needed.

Noise.. with insulation behind it, and once the room is filled with all the normal things that go into a room, it's really not a "noisy" room. This is customers' opinions, and I agree with them.

For hanging items, we'll generally ask the customer what they plan to hang, and we'll be sure there's blocking around the perimiter of the building at those heights. Using a spacer (to get past the ribs of the steel siding) makes it easy. When there's not a block where you need it, there's usually a post near enough to tie into (or you can remove a panel, add the blocking, return the panel to it's original spot).

40x30x14 pole barn. I framed out walls inside of it, and put up drywall. I wanted something fire resistant, so no OSB, and I didn't want metal for the look and the sound.

I've got 4 T5 lights, and it's bright as all hell in there, so Drywall is just as bright as metal wall.
