I am looking at using 3/4 polyiso panels to insulate the walls in my metal garage. I am wondering if I should use liquid nails or something to glue the panel directly to the metal wall or if there needs to be a space between the wall and panel? I know on concrete walls the use a firring stip between the wall and the panel not sure if i need to do the same on the metal wall.

I don't see why you could not glue them directly to the metal panels which is how other forms of insulation are used on metal panels. I might be wrong but I think the reason for furring strips on cinder block walls is to allow any moisture that seeps through to evaporate.
