This question isn't really for a project in my garage, but we can pretend it is... :) This may even be better suited in a general category, but....

Pros/Cons of using metal framing vs wood.

Tip/tricks of using metal?

Any websites with good information (I have yet to find one)?

Many thanks in advance.

I wouldnt use metal in the garage because it makes it tough to hang things. Easy to sink a screw in wood and hold some weight. Same with a kitchen (cabinets). Metal is quick and easy though but requires special attention when running electrical (sharp edges).

Can you attached the corrugated steel directly to studs? I guess you use galvanized screws?

steel for the top and bottom of walls rather than wood. You get perfectly straight walls as the wood studs just slide in and sloppy fit is ok and no toenailing.

Did my entire basement in metal studs. Quick, easy and cheap. And quiet when installing it. Use wood for door frames. The only thing I made sure of was to use wood studs where shelves or cabinets would be mounted as the metal will not hold the weight. Put 6mm plastic on floor under metal as well. Walls came out nice and straight.
