Metal Pegboard

I’m going with a section of pegboard.

What brand? I’m going with metal and so far just looked at Wall Control and OmniWall. Are all the various brands interchangeable? I see a lot of them have both the traditional holes and some have what look like slots as well.

Peg board ideas

Im going bonkers looing at idea for peg boards. Let see some of you guys peg bpards in action for some inspiration for mine haha. Im going to build mine 6'x4' or som maybe a bit smaller. Ive been looking for hours and cant decide haha

Thanks again for taking the time to search. Unfortunately the metal options hardly showed up in those threads unless I missed something. Also I’m not interested in the debates about pegboard or not...pegboard vs French cleats. I have decided that already.

OmniWall says that it is 18 gauge, and Wall Control is 20 gauge

Wall control costs roughly 1/3 less. It guess in theory the accessories from each would be interchangeable.

My wife has 4 WallControl panels, she uses them to hold quilting rulers an threads. We use the hooks for wood pegboards. They fit loose but none have fallen out. No complaints with them.

Have had a dozen or more of the wall control panels for about two years now. I have used a lot of their attachments (various hooks, bin racks, shelves etc) and have been pleased. Cheappegboard . com is their factory seconds/outlet so to speak and it is a pretty great savings. I use the panels for spray cans, bolt bins, hanging coiled air hose, welding accessories etc.

Gals to hear the good reviews for the less expensive one, and that is some crazy savings on the scratch and dent! I wonder what’s wrong with them, but I’m tempted to give it a shot at that price point.

For one, all the attachments come piled in a box with virtually no padding/packing material vs individually bagged when purchased new. That shipping practice resulted in a few of my shelves being scratched when they arrived, but nothing that was not fully covered when items were on the shelves. Out of all of my panels, one or two came with a scratch on the face, and one had a spot on bottom side that looked like the paint was not cured before they set it down somewhere and the paint had pealed off. The savings for me made it well worth the few blemishes. None of my panels were dent or otherwise not fully functional.

I purchased a trailer load of supermarket pegboard (including pegboard shelves) and have stripped, cleaned, straightened, and painted them for my shop. The holes are diamond shaped rather than round. The walls have hems about every 10 inches with the shelves having the same but more robust. I've put them on walls and trimmed others to be used as side panels on carts and cabinets. I'm very happy with them. Purchased some L bracket screws (about .2" diameter metal) and 6" shopping market pegs off ebay to be used or modified as needed. Way more robust than the normal pressboard material.

I like my wall control panels, have my most used mechanics tools at the head of the bay I work on cars in. Mix of wall control hooks and some spring clamps from McMaster to hold my ratchets and extensions. Just got another panel to still put up so I can spread it out some and get my wrenches in one place.

I bought wall control and have been very pleased. I don’t know if omniwall gives you that much more accessories, but for the price, I’d try wall control first.

I have used the wall control product in my garage, I really like it but I am annoyed by the loose fitting hooks. I am very temped to break out the hot glue gun and fix that problem.
