I'm building a U.S made hand drive 3/4 socket set through Cripe and E-Bay but am in need of a metal tool case to store it. I don't want to pay $100 plus for a new Williams, Armstrong, et al case. I struck out on E-bay and I don't have room in my rolling box. Where can I get a decent tool case without breaking the bank?

Just buy an old Craftsman or similar box before they started using plastic trays in them. I don't keep my 3/4" drive in mine, but rather my larger dies, and pipe threading equipment and it gets the job done. The ratchet handle for the pipe dies is probably about the same size as my NAPA 3/4" ratchet.

I can find boxes like that for sale on CL for $10-20 every day.

My ratchect is 19 1/2 inches long. I'm still looking for a 22" breaker bar so I need a case that's about 25" long. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. I'll have to check the E-bay link when I get home, E-bay is blocked at work. I'll check Craigslist as well, although the prices in N MI have always seemed too high.

If you have a Wright distributor in your area they will sell you just the box. When I got mine it was about $35.

I have a Wright 3/4 box I'd let go for $20 plus shipping.
