I found this website and it has a formula called Metallic Epoxy. I like it but kinda curious if the material will hold up well. Here is a link http://www.puremetallic.com/Metallix-Metallic-Epoxy-Coating-Pictures.html

I've been doing this for the last ten years or so, not really new to me. I thought it would become commercially available some day. I cant' see a problem with it as far as durability. There are some nice color combinations on that site. Not really for a garage floor, like a flake floor if you drop a part good luck finding it.

Post pics if you do your floor.

Wow that is really cool.

I wonder how easy it is to achieve those results. I really liked this one

I can't remember whose garage this is in this picture, but he used ground copper is his floor coating and it turned out pretty sweet.

I have heard of installers coating a floor with straight epoxy (no chips or clear yet) then while it is drying they squirt some MEK out of a spray bottle and it causes a puddling effect that looks a lot like that first pic, then after the whole thing dries they clear it.

I would bet thats how they get that look.

Isn't that Lookin4'67Galaxieconv floor, or it's someone with a '67 Galaxie. I remember the thread writeup on it.

For the OP, it states that it is an epoxy flooring system and the pricing is right at $.95/sq.ft. http://www.originalcolorchips.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=46

I have a garage floor that is def. more unique than flakes but not like that. Though with a bit of work that floor is not all that difficult.

I believe I remember the thread with the Galaxie and I believe he used the same products as my floor. Unless he was the installer it cost more than $.95/ sq. ft.

Not new....... been messing with Metallics and designer pigments since 2004. Back then I was paying $100 for 4 ounces of color, where it would only be enough for 1 gallon. Now there are many more colors available and much cheaper. The design, color and texture possibilities are now limitless.

Best way is to use material from a manufacturer that is specially designed for these effects. Indeed, most effectuators have MEK or alcohol in it, but best is to use a proven formula. Try www.aiflooring.com or metallix. Good products, at reasonable rates.
We have been installing these floors for about 7 years now.

I can post a chit load of projects I've done with the Reflector Enhanser. I do a lot of commercial applications with it. Oh, that pic was at Fitness Now in Indianapolis. It was the first floor with the RE that went in with Elite Crete's micro powders.

I've done 1,000's of feet with it since. What I'm starting to do with it now is to incorporate Mica flakes with it. Of course it awfull fancy for you greese monkeys (I mean that in a positive way) But for someone that had a "showroom" type floor, it would be way cool. How do you post pics on here? I can show a few projects and sample boards I've done in class. gene
