Back in the mid-late '90's, I purchased a set of Craftsman Professional SAE wrenches. I always said I'd buy the metric set someday, but never did. Now that Craftsman has gone Chinese, I'm looking at alternatives. Any recommendation for a set of metric full-polish wrenches? (I have Craftsman RP metrics, but really prefer a long full-polish wrench.) I'd love to buy SO FDP, but it's not in the budget. Thanks in advance.

I believe that those Craftsman Professionals were made by SK, so if you're looking for something similar, the SuperKrome Long pattern set would match.

sk would be a perfect match because sk made the early cman version.

oddly, the best wrenches cman ever branded yet people still think the lobster claws are an acceptable replacement.:monkey_pi:monkey_po:puke::bitchslap

SK would be a good choice. I have Williams Supercombo which is really nice also, Chromed and plenty long. The beams are kind of bulky at first but i think their great. I paid around $120 on the snapon truck a few years ago for 10-19mm

Just my two cents...But the Industrial line from Craftsman is super nice, super cheap and made in the USA. Plus they will match your older sae set.

Now if I could only figure out the raging Hormones of my two teenagers I would be in Heaven...but then I would need someone else to give me their two cents!:willy_nil:lol_hitti:dunno::lol:

If I was busy would look for something with a distinct different look for metrics. I bought a big cman set in about 82 maybe the qc was **** then compared to some older stuff I had. Big ole fat looking clubs. I still scour up an old one or 2 when I need super thin, I got a couple, as fine as any.

There are some craftsman pros floating around in some stores.

But if you are looking for similar, SK is one option. But the longer craftsman pros were also made my armstrong.

So good options if you can not find NOS craftsman pros metric are williams USA, Armstrong, SK and wright. They are not as expensive as the truck brands. Proto is nice as well, but a bit more then the other non truck brands.
