Metric wrench/socket sizes--UNPOPULAR

I don't recall ever using a 9mm but I have used 6,7,8,10-19mm and 22, 24, and 27mm a lot. I have a 20 and 21mm wrenches but have never used either. I wrench mostly on Dodge. My buddies tell me GM uses 20mm a lot

The lug nuts on my truck are 21mm.

I don't think I even own a 20mm wrench or socket, though...

I bought a 23mm deep well snap on impact socket last month. Perfect for chrysler 22mm lugnuts that swell up

Has anyone ever had to use a 20mm socket for any 19mm lugnuts that swell???

If so that will give me reason to go buy one!!

I do all the time. Ford Focus lug nuts are known to swell above the 19mm and sometimes a 19.5mm wont work and only a 20mm will do!

Yeah I know they actually make a 19.5 and a 22.5

My experience tho with the chrysler lugs are that if u can't get a 22mm on it.....9 time out of 10 ur not gonna get a 22.5 on it either.

Well now that u said that about the fords I think I'll get a 20mm! I'm not even gonna bother with a 19.5 one

Me!!
I don't have cable or satellite.
Just some rabbit ears and coax running to my tv.
Who doesn't have a cable bill....this guy!!

You will eventually want every socket. I had never used a 16 mm until recently when I was replacing the head gasket on my Corvette. Different vehicles use the different sizes, and in some case, I end up using standard sizes because they fit the bolts/nuts tighter than the metric (even on cars that are supposedly all metric). I like to minimize the chance of rounding off a nut so if the wrench is not snug, I will check both standard and metric sizes for the best fit.

I've had a set of Snap On metric sockets for probably 20 years, and last weekend was the first time the 16 mm standard length ever came off the rail. I was changing the idler pulley for the serpentine belt on my 2003 BMW 330ci. It was nice to christen it after all these years.
