I unfortunately destroyed my Toyota highlander front tire because the pot hole won
I go to lower the spare tire underneath the car by trying to wrench the bolt in the hatch area to lower the spare and None of my sockets work !!!! Wtf is there a specific size from Toyota
The size is between a 22mm and 23mm. So I try sae again between 7/8 and 15/16 inch
Good luck I had a long nose locking plier. I would hate to pay the Toyota dealer like $20 for a stupid size socket. Any suggestions or workarounds this obvious screw you by Toyota

Ayuh,..... look in the owner's manual,.....

One of the few things covered in it, is removin' the spare,.....

I'm guessin' the wrench should be hidden on-board,....

One train of thought -
Toyota uses a 5 point socket is to prevent people from running up the hoist with an air wrench over torquing the cable and system weakening it.

Cut from previous thread
SO sells a five point for Toyota, don't know anyone who has bought one though.

Hopefully you'll locate the OEM socket in your vehicle.

I never would have thought that the factory socket was 5 Sided
All my years of wrenching I’ve only seen and used was 6 point and 12 point sockets. Except for specialty sockets like for an o2 sensor
That’s why none of my sockets work. Not rusted because the bolt to lower the spare is inside. The dealer either didn’t check or forgot this item in their bs 50 point check prior to customer pick up. Never had this problem with my Honda’s
