metro shelving, makes sense?

I have this dead space running on the west side of my garage. its probably a 18 inches deep from the end of the garage door so i've never been able to put much there except hanging rakes, shovels, etc. Well i came into this metro industrial shelving at a great price, free! I ran it almost the entire length of the wall, i can still add one more shelving unit but i want to keep some peg board for the rakes, etc. what do you guys think, does this stuff make sense or should i look for something else.

Metro racks are GREAT!! Enjoy them.

Grab them..the price is right! if you hate them later, pass them onto someone else.

The only downside I've found is that heavy stuff can be tough to move around on them, and small stuff falls through.

A sheet of hardboard or 1/4" plywood on some of the shelves solves that easily.

Two things.

When I get a new section of that stuff, I put wheels on em!

One set I got off CL had a thin plastic over the shelves. That keeps stuff from falling thru.

I like the acrylic plastic idea for the shelves, i might have to try that. as for golf, yes it is my obsession but it used to be a lot worse. I used to collect wilson staff irons, i have 12 plus sets from 1957 to about 1991. not to mention 2 sets of mizuno 2 sets of nike vr, a set of callaway x forged. I also had about 7 staff bags and about 7 scotty cameron putters. Back in January i had a dealer come out and buy a majority of my stuff. I actually got a lot more than i thought i would and that helped me be able to make some tool purchases and organize my garage.

Those wires shelves are GREAT...I use them in my shop. I got a sheet of tempered hardboard and cut liners for each shelf, so I can slide heavy tools around without a problem and small things don't fall through...

Is "Metro" the name of the style of this shelving or a brand name?
I saw some similar wire rack units at Sams club for $100 ea (five shelves IIRC) seemed reasonable. They also have a matching corner section..... never seen that before.
Then I was in HomeDepot and saw the same thing for same price.
But free is awesome! I never seem to be in the right place at the right time to snag such a deal.
