I have the 10x14 framed up towards the left of the picture. I am hoping 2x8s spanning less than 10' is sufficient for storage above. Not a whole lot of weight.

Question is id like a clear span of 14' extending from the framed room towards the right.

I was thinking of doing another 4x4 butted up to the 4x4 that is there on the framed room with 2 2x12s spannong 14' on top of the 4x4 to another 4x4 with 2x8s going the 10'.

Is this sufficient to have a room above where I can actually walk around? The room would be roughly 10x10

Yes it would work but your building codes would probably require a footer and foundation wall.
