MF GC2410 what to look for when inspecting

The more I’m thinking about it, it’s not a bad option at all. I was thinking if I owned the tractor I would want to do an annual maintenance, oil, filter, air filter at minimum. That would be near 80.00 bringing my annual cost for 5 days of work to 800.00
Usually a tractor like the one I looked at is around 20,000.00. 20,000.00 invested at even 5 percent is 1000.00 a year. lol, I’m being ridiculous I know, but really….
I’m still going to keep my eyes open for that perfect deal for me, just have to have my big boy pants on, and pull the trigger when or if that deal comes along, if it doesn’t renting sounds good to me.
I also have an old probably 1950 or 60 something Massey Ferguson tractor sitting in one of my sheds. It was last running maybe about 12 years ago, diesel, going to get around to looking at it. I could use it with a brush hog, also if I get it running again, I’ve seen 3 point hitch mounted backhoe units for sale in the 2500.00 range. We will see….

An old farm tractor is far better built than anything new. Definitely will do the brush mowing you need. What model?

I would have to have a look to see the model, it’s half buried in an old out building. All I know is it’s diesel, Massey Ferguson, has hydraulics to the 3 point hitch and a rear pto, and that it ran when put away roughly 10 years ago

Sounds like a great starting point. Those tractors are worth putting a bit of money into and are very well built.

It’s on my list, and sooner rather than later. Probably next year, possibly this year but trying to clean up the property and getting the fire wood in, is going to take priority.
There will be a thread when I pull it out. I will post here soon with the make and model
