I bought a wrench exactly like that one at a yard sale a few weeks ago. I have been intending to post a picture since I have not seen any others marked like that. Thanks for saving me the effort.:)

I have some early snapon wrenches that look like "ignition" wrenches and they look pretty crude but not exactly like yours; those pictured above maybe a similar type!

Hey, I also now have one of these wrenches. What's the verdict?

i have the same ac1818, i got mine for free from my wifes gpa, i believe it is a air conditioning wrench from what i remember finding out. i tried to sell mine on ebay and had the starting bid at 5.95 and it was removed by ebay 2 times for quote on quote "Copyright Infringement" when i said in the listing it is sold as is and with no expressed warranty from me or snap on, i felt like they were just picking on me lol

Thanks for the info. Too bad your auction didn't complete, as I am looking for info on pricing it to sell.

Yessir, I did see those. I'm looking at that one auction as a fluke. SO collectors are so passionate, that I can't believe that an uncommon wrench that hasn't even been found in a catalog is only worth a two-spot!

I'm sure you found these already, but:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Snap...t=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item1c1d8d695d

A whole $2 :(

and if you go about halfway down, this site has one, saying it may be a WWII special order, which is probably where the ebay lister got his info

For that price, I'd look for a bunch of them and make handles for my garage cabinets...

I bought the same wrench over the weekend for $5. I was happy to find it for that price! I like to find stuff like this that you don't see too often.
