I just got a Snap On MG325 3/8" impact. I have a question or two.
A big reason I chose this one was the anvil stop feature. I'm tired of chasing slung nuts. How quickly should it stop? I put a heavy socket on it, and let it zing full speed, and it coasts to a stop in about a second. I put the same socket on my old impact, which has no anvil stop feature, and it coasts to a stop from full speed in a little over 3 seconds, so this is somewhat better, but less than I was expecting. My cordless impacts stop instantly. Is this normal operation, or is it possible mine has a malfunction?
Should the muffler felt cause much of a performance difference? Out of the box, I thought it was a little less powerful than I was expecting, but pulling out the muffler felt seemed to make a difference. Unfortunately, this little puppy is damned loud, and quite shrill, that muffler is definitely not staying out. It was wadded up and bunched over to make it quite dense, I'm thinking if I put it back in without wadding it up, that might make it flow air better while still muffling sufficiently.
