I plan on running 2-2-2-4 mhf from my house 200amp service with a 90 amp breaker. The distance is about 200 feet from my house and want to run a 90 amp breaker in the subpanel. Does this sound correct at all?

This is exactly what I did only my run was 175'. 2-2-2-4 MHF from my 200 amp main to 100 amp sub in the shop with 90 amp breaker.

Have not tested, or got it inspected yet though, my build is still on-going.

The size of the "main" breaker in the sub does not really matter, but I would want it to trip BEFORE the breaker in the house.

What are your loads?

200’ might be pushing it

Go one size down from 90A in the house. Plenty of cushion.
