Alright everyone, as promised in the "Introduce Yourself" section, consider this the start of my garage build.

Purpose:
The goal is to have a comfortable space to detail and work on my cars and toys since my vehicles tend to wait until the coldest days of the year to need repairs.

Plan:
-Insulate walls & attic with faced fiberglass insulation, garage door with Insulfoam panel kit from Lowes.
-Add 6-110v outlets and 1-220 outlet.
-Gas line for Mr. Heater heater.
-Adding a cable line, just in case I feel the need to go out there to watch the game. lol
-Hot & Cold water lines for hose reel.
-Add 2 more light receptacles making 4 total fixtures which will be the Lithonia 4ft LED fixtures. 4000 Lumens each and I believe a 82CRI which should be plenty for me.

Undecided items:
-Still trying to decide between doing a 100% solids epoxy coating or Racedeck Free Flow flooring. I'm concerned about the Racedeck only because of my use of jacks and jack stands. I would also like to be able to use car dollies for my fun car and not sure if these will roll on this flooring.

-I'm torn between the New Age Performance Plus cabinets in blue and the Gladiator Premier Series cabinets.

Any real world experiences/advice on these two items would be helpful!

Basic layout of the garage when we built it. Ours in mirrored from this one those.

You can see that I started installing the foam panels from the kit noted above.

Welcome to garage journal! That looks like an awesome bench. What is the butcher block top made from? Is it scratch built or re-purposed bowling alley or something?

BTW - I'm also in Michigan, just east of you.

Nice work bench. I would like a TV someday but some how someday never gets here.
Welcome from another Michigander. Were just over yonder.
Did you build you bench yourself? It looks great.

Yeah that's a nice bench, however I think you might've meant to post that in the bench thread?. Definitely don't have the time to build something like that between work and chasing a 1yr old around the house!

Meant to post that pic in the "show your bench". I had the exterior of the shop put up (pole building and ALOT of cement) then I did all the finish work in the interior. I custom built the bench with Rockler slides on all the drawers and the top is 3/4" OSB board topped with 3/4" Oak flooring covered with 5 coats of urethane. So far it is holding up great and it has seen a transmission and cylinder heads on it already.

Had my baby monitor in my shop so I could work during NAP TIME.
That seems like the only way I get anything done! Excited to see the monitor will reach out to the new shop.

My monitor was hooked together by the power wire. Had to open my fuse box to find a circuit on the other leg as it did not work when I first plugged it in.
