Any idea what the max load weight would be on that hoist system? I bought the Harbor Freight 880lbs hoist and now am looking to build a rail system to lift and move a 500lbs snowmobile. Think your rail would hold up to that much weight?

That's about the max weight I ever thought I would want to lift.

All components are rated for more than twice that. Trusses are already designed for a heavy wet michigan snow load, and I use it when it's summer with no load.

It has been a really great add.

Love your hoist. I was trying to come up with a setup like that for my storage area as well. I found the web site for trolley. Did you get the track from the same place? I would think shipping a 20 foot long track would be tricky.

Did you ever come up with " a more elegant way" of moving the hoist along the track? I was thinking about using a thinner rope and some pulleys to keep it out of the way and a light weight to keep it from sagging. It would be similar to pulley system they use to lift bikes up to the ceiling.

Yes and no.

With both the yellow rope and yellow extension cord going from hoist to wall, I used wire ties to connect them. Looks much cleaner than before.
