I measured the panels on the garage door which were 48" vertical. I made a circular model that was 46". This left a 1" cleareance band at the top and bottom.
Then I went to the internet and found a .jpg of the Mopar emblem.
Attached and scaled it to my model then simply edited the circles and angles so they were
scaled correctly. Made a print giving myself all the dimension I needed to locate the end points and as they say, the rest is history.

Just sweet all the way around. Cave = awesome. Gas pumps and globes = way cool. Cuda is bad ***. My friends brother had a '72 440 with a pistol grip shifter when I was a kid and he would give us a thrill ride once in a while. Always remember that first addicting feeling of power.

Tha nks for the kind words. As for yhe vice wall mount, I designed and built it myself probably 5-6 years ago.
Unfortunately, that was before I retired and I forgot and left all that data there when I left

While I don't like your mods to the Cuda, it's your car and cosmetic so who gives a flying bleep right. What I do like is the attention to detail and nice touches to your garage and house.

Thanks for all the kind words guys, I am truly blessed.
I see others posting pics of their house builds so I will show some here to let you get an idea of what we did.
I won't show you pictures of closets, dining room tables or anything boring, just main views. Here we go, I hope you like them.


Here's the front, no grass or plants yet due to the extreme heat and lack of rain but they are coming soon. The shop is the windows on the front right in this view.


Here's the back looking from the course. The balcony is just a 20'x20' hangout area to sit, eat, drink and enjoy the view of the lake and the golf course.
The main feature of the house is probably the back patio. This is where we will spend most of our time when the weather is good.


The back patio is 1000 square feet. This is a view from the sidewalk coming around the house into the tv/fireplace area.

LXCam, Thanks. The contractor told us 6 months before we started but it actually took 11 months, almost to the day.

While I love the house and shop, this was the experience from hell and one I would never do again.

Loving the Garage. The Mopar emblem on the door is a great Idea. I've owned a few mopars in my life. 70 AAR Challenger, 68 GTX, 74 Cuda that I Pro Streeted back in 97. My son stull has his 73 Challenger we restored 20 years back when he was in high school.

Just a brief update from inside the 'Cuda Cave.
It took a monumental amount of work to get the Racedeck floors back to looking new but they are done.

Also, I received the new DirectLift 4-post lift and got it installed. In my previous shop I only had 9' ceilings so I could only raise the car up high enough to where I could sit on a stool and work under it.
This is where the vaulted ceiling idea came in. Now I can raise the car up and walk underneath it. Love it!!

Next thing on my punch list is to get the air lines in the walls hooked up from the compressor to the hose reels.

I have used Epoxy paint, VCT and Racedeck in my shops and I would have suggest Racedeck head and shoulders about the other two in my opinion.

I've always liked the looks of the race deck but I wondered how hard it was to keep it clean. What was your cleaning procedure?

I have owned my Racedeck for about 5 years. I use my shop but do take precautions when welding or anything that could cause permanent damage.
While building my house the shop was the catch-all for everything. I made a horendous
mess of my flooring and was worried I could not get it back looking good.
I posted an outline of what I did here: How to get your Racedeck floor looking new again

Here is a shot with the lift up. I have the lift placed as far towards the door as possible with the ramps attached.

The only draw back to this is the ramps need to be removed before lifting, with the door down, as the tracks lean inboard for the vaulted ceiling.
I could move the lift a 6 in. forward but I think I will leave it like it is for now.

Still there is plenty of room so no more stool mechanics lol.

Dark Age 53 - Yes, I sold my lift when I left my last shop but I plan to put a 4-post lift between the beams before long.

APEowner - The 'Cuda is my latest project. I have had it for a little over a year now. It had a full restoration but plans are to pro-tour it as soon as I get the shop and house completed. It is not a "number matching" car so going to pro-touring route is more my MOP.

Here are a couple shots of it as it is now:




LegacyIndustrial- The slab did look pretty good but I have had the RaceDeck for a couple years now and loved it so I moved it to my new place.
I am going to be contacting you about flooring paint for my double garage.

cajunfirehawk-I made it to Cruzin the Coast last year. I had reservations and everything but had to change my plans. The golf course I live on hosted it first professional tournament and it was the same week so I choose to caddie for 4 days. It was a awesome experience. I will most definitely have the 'Cuda back at Cruzin next year.
I did not get to make the Power Tour. Building this house and shop took everything and every minute I had this past year. But it was worth it now.

SAATR- When you get ready to build, give me a shout and I'll hook you up with a great contractor. Plan about a year in advance for him though.

Fantastic job on the garage! I love the Mopar M on the door. I need to look into doing something like that but I think the back of my door is textured so that might screw it all up. Does your door have a smooth surface on that indoor side?
