I purchased a snap on tool box top and bottom without the keys the code is n1390 a local lock smith has had the lock for a while but has not found a blank key. We think the lock was made by chicago lock .any ideas.

If the blank remains a problem...find an old, cluttered, dirty locksmith shop and ask the oldest guy in there. Yes, that one will probably have the blanks, but also a real locksmith can make the blank, milling in the grooves to start. A real smith is more than a key grinder and handle installer!

You might give easykeys.com a try. They supply keys for office furniture and file cabinets. They had the keys for my old New Britain chest and roll around. Not real cheap, but I was real happy with their service and my old boxes had been without keys for at least 25 years. http://www.easykeys.com/

i have e mailed snap on and talked to my dealer .the locksmith is the best in town .he took the lock to a convention in fla in august.he has not given up he told me last week.

Call Snap-on customer support. They will refer you to their outside vendor that makes their locks and keys.

If only you had mentioned this earlier... I just got rid of some Chicago Lock key blanks... Anyways put up a pic of the lock. If it is what I think it is I may have a replacement.
