My wife wanted an old wall clock, found one she thought was pretty cool (I agreed). It didn't run, I removed the mechanism but everything appeared to be in good shape, so I sprayed some rust penetrant, it tried to run, some carb cleaner to get the gunk and debris out, it ran a little more. The lubed friction points and gears with lightweight model train oil and it started running and kept running.

Then I polished and cleaned the plated and painted surfaces, touched up a few rusty spots after a quick sand and it turned out pretty good. Not a clock expert, but will work on most anything mechanical. Fun little project.

Ny wife is a MCM flipper and buyer. We're all the time getting furniture and other MCM stuff through here.

My job is mover, refinishing, mover, transporter and mover. She gets all the glory and money. That's fair since I wouldn't know MCM if it came up and bit me in the a$$. :lol_hitti

Thanks for the comments--as I get older I appreciate projects I can do sitting down with my work in front of me a little more. The clock runs for about a day. Doesn't like it if I wind it too much, don't know if that is normal, haven't had wind up clocks around me much since I was a kid in the 60s and 70s.

Looks good, Glemon! We had almost the same clock on our wall when I was young in the early 60s.
