Mid rise lift gouging floor

Getting ready to finish my floor, I have a few spots that need attention first.
The mid rise lift is gouging the floor where the wheels track.
Trying to not damage the finish on the floor after completed if possible.

Any suggestions?

I would think about recessing a piece of 1/4" plate into the floor on each side for the wheels to ride on.....but I don't know the feasibility of this, just an idea.

A piece of steel for them to ride on is what I would do.

Teflon wheels.

Steel C channel set into cuts in the floor and flush. C arms down. Some grease on the plate and wheel to prevent metal transfer.
