Hello
New to this forum.
Looking for honest opinions of best mid rise scissors lifts.
I have a Twin Busch 6600 lb mid rise lift I use daily but I want to upgrade to a new one 8000-9000 lbs lifting capacity, 220 volt also.
My Twin Busch 6600 lifts most cars I work on but is useless anything heavier than a mid size vehicle.
I’ve searched all kind of google review lists of the “10 best”
Not sure I believe any of these lists which brings me here looking for real world opinions & experience with the equipment.
My Twin Busch is advertised “made in Germany)
Most every one of these types of lifts are from China (like everything else we buy today )
One I’m considering is a Stratton 9000lb
(Picture attached)
Also attached is picture of my Twin Busch 6600 (blue lift)

Thanks in advance for your replied.

Wish I could be more help but I can only offer my opinion. I've been shopping for a mid-rise for years and yet to make the plunge. I've been looking for a frame-contact rather than a rocker panel lift but the construction of the lift device itself is similar. One of the reasons I keep pulling back is same as yours, most are 6,000-7,000 pound capacity and one vehicle I'd like to lift is my Ford Excursion. I'm glad to see they have upped the capacity of some models.

In general, most of the Chinese merchandise is copies of existing product from another country. The only major difference will be quality control and, possibly, materials. If you've done due dilligence and like the feature set, perceived quality, or a certain certification then the Stratton is probably a good pick. I've done no specific research other than look at your photos but, to me, the Stratton does not look that much more heavy duty than the lift you currently own which seems to be a really nice one.

P.S. If you don't need all the height of a mid-rise, paralellogram lifts that will raise 9,000 lb. are available from a variety of manufacturers. They go up to about 30" and appear to be more secure than a scissors lift. They do require additional space as they tend to move your vehicle forward while lifting.

If this helps explain what I’m looking for I found this picture of a Stratus SAE-MS9000XT with a full size Chevy Suburban which I believe is all of 6000 lbs.
I would much prefer seeing a video of it lifting the Suburban rather than a still picture.

I have two Snapon mid-rise scissor lifts they are rated at 6500lbs and have a max lift height of 48 inches. I have had my F-250 superduty on them but I quickly put stands under and don't leave the vehicle weight on the lift. Do I recommend this to anyone else, NO. Also they are not the twin lift style that are open in the middle they are one piece table style. If you will do a search you will find several posts about scissor lifts and who likes what and who makes what.

I have that exact lift from Stratus. Bought it in 2022. Bought the support bars with it. It has lifted my 2016 F250 6.2l gas, extended cab, short bed, 4x4. It weighed right at 7000lbs with a full tank of gas on the scales at the quarry. It didn't have any issues doing it. I don't know if the ramps are long enough to do a crew cab though.

Should anyone on this forum be interested I’m looking to sell my 6600 lb Twin Busch scissors lift I have now.
I replaced the 2 hydraulic hoses to the lift cylinders 2 months ago.
Had them made up at my local Hydraulics shop at the cost of $450 for the 2 hoses.
I’m in Massachusetts 4 miles from Gillette stadium
