Since my last post about being thankful for friends helping me after I injured my right ankle and calf so I could stay on schedule for shop painting I am finally getting around a little better and had a couple of fairly productive days in getting the shop back together after moving everything in order to paint the north & east walls. Looking forward to the next few days and making more progress on getting the bench and equipment back in place.

Got a little bit done after dealing with the results of the storm that blew thru Thursday evening. This is the Canopy from our Engine & Tractor Clubs Case Steam Engine. We have been storing the canopy while it is getting a new boiler. Must have been some crazy wind in order to flip this over. It was sitting next to the fence on the left in the 1st picture

Good progress today, got all the steel gone thru, rearranged and back in the storage rack. Next up is getting the tool boxes back in place and going thru all the drawers.

Not alot completed today. I did get a few more signs on the wall, went thru the first tool box, cleaned it up and went thru the drawers, got the other two boxes cleaned and in place. I will go thru the drawers and cut new liners this week for the other 2 boxes

FYI, you can select insert full images when you are loading the pictures and they will show up full size and are much easier to see and as the person reading the thread you don’t have to click on every picture to see it

Got sidetracked on the shop cleaning project. My friend Jim called with a sad tale about his windmill falling of his tower, what amess of bent up parts. I drilled out every rivet to get all 6 blade sections apart, then straightened and rerolled the blades, straightened the spokes, straightened the inner and outer bands the blades mount on. Finally, I was ready to reassemble. He will pick it up this morning.

Just before the windmill project started, I had gone with a friend to look at some used tooling and tools for his used mill he bought, he got only the mill as the previous owner kept everything since he had upgraded to a better mill. While he was picking out the stuff he needed I grabbed the things in the first picture for me to take home. I started out to just clean up the vise and oil everything, ended up turning into a project since it was just full of shavings I disassembled it, glass beaded and gave it fresh paint.
