hey all...i've got a bit of a problem with my Hobart Handler 135 welder. occasionally it was just run on...and by "run on" i mean it will feed wire without the trigger being pressed. i've isolated it to somewhere in the attachment of the gun/cable assembly to the wire feed block inside the case. if you wiggle the base of the cord it will intermittently turn on/off as if the trigger is being pressed. my gut tells me it is a short somewhere with respect to the trigger contact closure, but careful inspection of the 2-conductor wire exiting from the gun assembl (which terminates in two spade connectors) shows no wear or crimping.

i can't figure out a way to diagnose this further without replacing the entire gun assembly.

anybody run into a problem like this before?

thanks

k
