To all you Mig welders out there, what are you thoughts on welding spoons? I usually clamp a block of aluminum to the back of my sheet metal panels, but the other day I was at HF and their copper spoons seem to be easier to work with and are a easier shape to clamp to things.

Are there any techniques to working with a copper spoon when welding? I watched some videos with a tig welder, and it seemed pretty straight forward to use. Does Mig require anything different to weld properly with the copper heat sink and not weld through everything.

Yep, I don't have the HF one, I have a bunch of pieces of flattened copper pipe and copper sheet, but they work really well for filling in holes in sheet metal.
