Great hoses and price..but heavy. I draw the line at 50 footers. Heck I won't even buy a 100ft extension cord any more. Maybe I'm just getting old..![]()

Those used to be the best hoses on the market, but they changed the fittings.
They're now appreciably weaker and more prone to corrosion.
50' is too short, 100' is too long. I have a couple of 75' !Great hoses and price..but heavy. I draw the line at 50 footers.
How long ago did they change the fittings?
Perhaps ten years ago. The new fittings are still better than most of the competition, but paired with that indestructible, elastic hose they become a weak link if you aren't paying attention.
They also can't handle as much pressure. In former days, the big, blocky brass fittings would actually hold fast in winter, leaving the hose to expand if the water began to freeze. The replacement fittings pop quickly in those situations.
I'm sure they've changed them again since last I bought one, but I'd be surprised if it was an improvement. The drop in quality when they were first altered was a vast plummet.
All that said, this is still the easiest way to buy a hose that is extremely resistant to kinking, and when it does happen, all you have to do is wiggle it a bit. Hell, I might pick one up. I get so sick and tired of that "Neverkink" hose kinking it's *** off that I can overlook the cheap fittings.
How do they compare to the Flexzilla?
Strange I believe I had one of these and all it did was kink up. I finally got tired of dealing with and trashed it. It was only a year old. Maybe I had a different model but it sucked.
