Someone, I won't say who :wtf:, used my mightyvac to flush brake fluid and at one point, but the cap for the resivoir on backwards and sucked brake fluid into the tool. The main part comes apart easily enough and I've cleaned it out, but I'm not sure what to do about the gauge itself. If I just blow it out with some air, will that be OK or should i go ahead and replace it?

I wouldn't worry much. The tube inside the gauge is probably brass and immune to brake fluid. There can't be much fluid in the gauge and I don't think brake fluid will effect the rubber seal or the plastic of the mityvac.

If brake fluid got in the gauge, it might be best to remove it, disassemble it (remove two back screws) and rinse it all under really hot water. Perhaps it's obvious, but you'll need to make sure it's super dry before putting it all back together.

You said you cleaned out the main part, but, if you haven't done so already, you usually need lubricate the rubber cups in there once you do that. Mightyvac sells the lubricant, but I think you might be able to get away with using silicone spray.

Sounds good folks. I'll clean it up as best I can and re-lube it properly. Thanks for the help.
