Hello all

I have a 40x44 Garage that will be fully insulated. Will regular drywall be fine or should I go with the mildew proof?

I am not familiar with mildew proof, only moisture resistant. If it were mine, I would use type X; not for the fire resistance so much as for the extra strength. Type X has fibers in it to withstand a hose stream in a fire. Then I would put mildew resistant additive in the paint.

The yellow mildewproof has fibers too (actually, it's covered in fibers, instead of paper, rather than having fibers inside like type X).
But if you're concerned with mildew, realize that spackle compound will mildew (it's just a form of talc). You need to use a mixed hardening plaster to have it truly mildew proof.
